Ownership, qualifications and professional responsibility
Experience & Credentials
Specialist analysis requires identifiable professional responsibility.
Corpfin Analytics Limited is owned and led by siblings Lorna and Guynn Chuttoo. Their professional experience is presented separately because they bring different disciplines to the firm and assume different responsibilities on an engagement.
Lorna leads the corporate finance analysis; Guynn leads the insurance, claims, operational risk and business-resilience workstreams where relevant.
Professional background
Lorna Chuttoo is a corporate finance and valuation specialist with more than 20 years of experience in offshore finance, multi-jurisdictional investment structures, fund administration, debt analysis and private-asset valuation.
Her prior professional responsibilities extended across approximately 250 investment funds and assurance-linked policy structures domiciled in Guernsey, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands and Mauritius, collectively representing approximately USD 5 billion in assets under administration. These figures describe the scale of the professional environment in which she worked.
Lorna previously owned and managed a Mauritius management company. Her responsibilities extended beyond establishing multi-layered and multi-jurisdictional entities to their practical operation: fund and investor administration, valuation, debt positions, governance, reporting and movement of capital between investors, intermediary entities and underlying assets.
Her work is also informed by 15 years of first-hand experience in African markets, gained while living and working as an expatriate in several African countries earlier in her career. This is relevant where private-company reporting is incomplete, ownership and related-party relationships are complex, capital mobility is constrained or formal financial statements do not fully explain the investor's economic exposure.
Current responsibility within Corpfin
Lorna defines the corporate finance question, selects the appropriate valuation and analytical methodologies, develops and reviews financial models and forms conclusions on investment value, capital exposure, cash generation, funding, shareholder economics, recoverability and investor returns.
Legal, tax, regulatory and technical conclusions obtained from appointed specialists are incorporated through their financial effect. Lorna remains responsible for how confirmed specialist conclusions affect the model and the overall corporate finance decision.
Professional background
Guynn Chuttoo is an insurance, risk and operations specialist with more than 20 years of experience in risk mitigation, claims management, portfolio diversification, operational management and cash-flow optimisation.
His professional experience has been developed across international insurance companies and insurance-brokerage businesses operating in Madagascar and Mauritius. It includes the assessment of insured and uninsured exposures, claims, portfolio concentration, operating continuity and the financial consequences of risk-transfer arrangements.
His academic background combines finance with political and institutional analysis. This is relevant where insurance, operational and commercial outcomes are affected by regulatory conditions, institutional capacity, country risk or relationships between the operating business, insurers, brokers and other counterparties.
Guynn currently serves as General Manager of Sanko, an Axian Group company.
Current responsibility within Corpfin
Within Corpfin assignments, Guynn is responsible for insurance, claims, operational risk and business-resilience analysis where those matters are relevant to the financial decision.
His work tests whether the insurance and operating assumptions used in the financial model reflect the exposures the business is carrying, the risks transferred to insurers or counterparties and the residual risks remaining with the company, shareholders or lenders.
Distinct disciplines within one assignment
Allocation of professional responsibility
Each engagement identifies the professional accountable for every analytical workstream and the engagement lead responsible for integrating those findings into the overall financial conclusion.
| Analytical responsibility | Professional accountability |
|---|---|
| Corporate finance framework, modelling, valuation, ownership, funding, investor returns and cross-border structure | Lorna Chuttoo |
| Insurance exposure, claims, operational risk, portfolio concentration and business resilience | Guynn Chuttoo |
| Legal, tax, regulatory or specialist technical conclusions | Relevant appointed specialist within the defined professional scope. |
| Integration into the investment, valuation or recovery conclusion | Corpfin engagement lead, with each professional accountable for their own discipline. |
Where insurance, claims or operating resilience affects cash flow, capital requirements, value or recovery, Guynn's findings are incorporated into the corporate finance analysis led by Lorna. Each conclusion remains attributable to the professional responsible for that discipline.
